Core focus is the research on conventional combustion engine: innovative engine designs, efficient combustion processes also, alternative fuels, improvement of the engine mechanics and after-treatment systems. Research on virtual engine, hybrid powertrains, electro-mobility, fuel cells and mechatronics for combustion engines has strongly grown in these last years and will also play an essential role in the future of the Institute.


SAINT-GOBAIN RESEARCH PROVENCE (SGR Provence) is an industrial research and development centre specialised in the "High Performance Materials" activity (ie: ceramics, abrasives, plastics, technical fabrics, coating solutions) of the "Innovative Materials" division. It is also involved in Saint-Gobain's "Sustainable Habitat" strategy through different projects for the "Construction Products" division.
